Five Ways To Nourish Your Skin

Our skin needs constant care, and it has a lot of its own needs.  Since our skin is the largest organ in our body, we need to be sure we’re keeping up with keeping it as nourished as possible.  If we’re really honest, very few of us are really happy with the way our skin looks and feels.  You may be feeling frustrated and feeling as though you can’t get your skin as nourished as it needs to be.  You know we’re always all about making sure that we’re giving you the best tips and advice in the beauty world, so we’re sharing five ways to nourish your skin to help you get that nourishment back!

Drink More Water
We know that you already know that drinking enough water is incredibly important to your health as a whole, but truly in order to have your skin well-nourished you need to make sure you’re drinking enough water.  Most of us, even if we drink water during the day still aren’t quite getting enough water.  Get into the habit of making drinking water a main priority for your daily routine to really get the skin nourishing benefits.

Protect Your Skin From The Sun
The sun wreaks havoc on our skin, and so many people think that they only need to worry about sun protection when they’re outside for extended periods of time.  Whether you realize it or not, our skin is exposed to the sun constantly (yes, even during the winter).  Give your skin the nourishment it needs and wants by making sure that you’re protecting your skin from the sun every day.

Clean Up Your Dirt
Did you know that what you eat (and drink) can have a major impact on your skin and its nourishment?  Well, it does!  When we eat a lot of sugar and overly processed foods our skin isn’t getting the nourishment it needs.  Since when we eat, we’re essentially feeding our body to give it the vitamins and minerals it needs to function properly, we want to make sure that we’re giving our body (and skin) the foods it needs to function at its best.  That means eliminating as much sugar and processed food as you can, and incorporating more fresh fruits, veggies and lean proteins.

Exercise More
While exercise is obviously a great activity to do to get your body healthy and reach your weight goals, it’s also really great for helping to give your skin the nourishment it needs.  Yep, sweating can actually give your skin great nourishment.  How?  Well, anytime we get our bodies moving we’re increasing the blood flow in our bodies which help our skin to get that boost to function much more efficiently.  In addition, exercising has been found to help give our skin that healthy glow, look more youthful and help minimize inflammation.

Use the Right Products
When we use skin care products that aren’t really designed to work with our skin type, we’re not doing ourselves any favors.  Take a look at your skin care products, if you feel like your skin just isn’t in the place you want it to be, it could be because you need to re-evaluate your skin care products and switch to those that are designed to work with your skin type.
